Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 12, 2026

ShelfMind Inventory helps households track products, expiry dates, intake reminders, and shopping lists. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.

Data We Collect

How Data Is Used

Data is used to provide app functionality: syncing household inventory, showing expiry and intake reminders, accepting household invites, processing selected product photos or labels, and looking up scanned barcodes.

Photos And AI Processing

When you choose or take a label photo, ShelfMind uploads it to Supabase storage temporarily, creates a signed URL, and sends that URL to the configured AI provider for extraction. The app attempts to delete temporary photo uploads after processing.

AI extraction can misread labels. ShelfMind shows a review screen so you can confirm product details, label-stated purpose, directions, warnings, expiry dates, lot numbers, and other fields before saving them.

Barcode Lookup

When you scan a barcode, ShelfMind may use a server-side AI provider with online search to identify the product. Returned online source metadata, such as source URLs or titles, may be saved with the confirmed product record. If lookup confidence is low, the app asks you to review or fill missing fields manually.

Medical And Supplement Warnings

ShelfMind stores label-stated or source-stated purpose, directions, and warnings only. It does not generate medical advice. Interaction checks are disabled unless ShelfMind is connected to a vetted interaction data provider. Any future interaction review is informational only and is not medical advice.

Tracking

ShelfMind does not use data for third-party advertising tracking.

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion in the app from Settings. Some shared households may require admin transfer before deletion can complete.
